Final Cut Pro is a powerful editing and audio editing tool. It is used by many professional movie makers. And now you, yes you, can become a professional movie maker for free!
1. We will be downloading a torrent version of Final Cut Pro. If you don't have Transmission, a free torrent downloader for Mac, get it here.
2. Download the Final Cut torrent here and wait for it to finish downloading. Once it's finished, open it up in Transmission. You should get a window like below. Click "Add".
3. Once you click "Add" Transmission will start downloading your torrent. When it's finished double click on the torrent, and Finder will open up two files.
4. Click on "Final Cut Studio 5.dmg". It will open up a new window. Click the "Install Final Cut Studio" installer package icon.
5. Click through the installing options, but stop when you get to "Custom Install on 'Macintosh HD' "
6. Uncheck the following:
DVD Studio Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, LiveType, and Apple Qmaster
Sadly, you need an installation disc for these, so we can't install them. You installer window should look like so:
7. Finish the installation process. Then click on the Final Cut Pro icon in your applications folder. A registration window should come up. Put your name, company, and lastly your serial.
The serial number is located in the text document that came with your install package.
The first serial number is the one you enter. **BE SURE TO MANUALLY ENTER IT** (with the dashes as well) The serial is below just in case.

8. Once you've entered in your info, a window will pop up saying that this is an upgraded serial key. It will then ask you to enter in the serials for Motion, Dvd Studio Pro, and Final Cut Pro HD. These serials are located below the original serial number in the text document.
Be sure to enter each serial MANUALLY. You should get a green check mark by each one when you enter them correctly. Just in case, each serial is below.
Motion: C-340-YFL-170-JST-340-WKJ-170-RRY-QVW
Dvd Studio Pro: C-342-SQZ-170-EAZ-340-AKZ-170-RMQ-PDY
Final Cut Pro HD: c-341-jej-170-wfu-341-vkv-170-rsz-pdn
9. Click "Finish" and a new window should come up. It will give the option of sending your registration info to Apple now, or later. Choose "Later". Open up Final Cut and it should work perfectly, and even show you as the owner as it loads.

How bad is it if you accidently send registration to Apple? Is there a way of stopping it from being sent if it says it'll send next time the program is opened on an internet connection??
ReplyDeleteIt could be a big deal, or it couldn't be. It really depends if Apple recognizes that you have a pirated serial number. But there is a way to stop it. You can use a program called Little Snitch, which allows you to approve or deny connections that various applications try to send over your internet. So with this program, you could block Apple from connecting to its servers, not allowing it to register.
