Safari Password recorder is a program that runs in the background on your Mac, very stealthily and almost undetectable.
1. Before downloading, go to your System Preferences --> Universal Devices.
Check "Enable access for assistive devices" if it is not checked already.
3. Drag that folder to User --> Library.
You can rename the folder to whatever you want so it doesn't look as suspicious.
4. Double click on the SPR application. Now you can go to any password-protected site in Safari and sign in. The password and website will be recorded in a .html file in the SPR folder.
5. To have Safari Password Recorder always run when your Mac starts, navigate to
System Preferences --> Accounts --> Login Items. Then drag the SPR application into the window.
And there you have it! Enjoy stealing some passwords! Also read these other tutorials:
OMG I looked for that app for hours!!! Great app. Only problem is that when you type the password something strange happens in safari but thats not a big problem i gues...
ReplyDeleteYeah, how it works is that it fills in its own form in the password fields. But hey, as long as you get the passwords, right? :)
ReplyDeletehow do u downlod?

i did all the steps but couldn't get spr.html folder? I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe spr.html file will not appear until someone types in a password. It is automatically generated by the program. No need to worry! :)
ReplyDeleteIt has to be in the user/library folder right not in just library?
ReplyDeleteHowever I dont get a SPR.html file after I tried out typing a couple of passwords
Oh and I dont need to extract it too, i guess it extracts itself after i download it
ReplyDeleteI was curious if you can use this file on an iPad. Of course jail broken and possibly with ifile?
ReplyDelete@ Lukas, yes it has to be in the user/library folder, and it might not run on snow leopard of lion anymore.
ReplyDeleteAnd for an ipad, You can try it, but it's not an official program and I don't think it's meant to run on those. :)
Hey everyone !
ReplyDeleteGreat app ! But on my new laptop (using Lion) it seems that it doesn't work.
Is there another similar app ? or an expected update?
Thanks
i tried it on both of my mac's, but it only works on one of them... the other one the number og charaters in the password comes up, but it is shown in squared boxes.... does enyone have the same problem?
ReplyDeletei have a problem with viewing gmail files the logs below the time and site are simply blank...
ReplyDeletewhat is the problem?? how to fix this?
I've logged in with a yahoo account and a gmail account but no .html files have appeared in the folder? What am I doing wrong?
ReplyDelete@Anonymous, what version of Mac OSX are you running? (it only runs on Mac, not Windows). I have been realizing that it becomes less functional on Snow Leopard and I don't think it works at all on Lion.
ReplyDeleteone question. how do u stop/delete it! its not working properly and i wanna remove it cos it screws my safari up. but i cant delete it properly. it just refuses to go away in my trash
ReplyDeleteno html file appearing...
ReplyDeleteI have used the safari password recorded but it is recorded password one time on same browser. But i enter any another id and password on same browser without refreshing it is not record the password. But after refreshed it record the password.
ReplyDeleteThis most likely doesn't work with newer versions of Mac OS X. If you are having problems, you can always delete the files, or reinstall Safari.
